This is a really fun activity in Nairobi that will also most likely touch your Heart. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Nursery bordering Nairobi National Park offers safe haven to orphaned baby elephants rescued from parks and reserves in Kenya. The nursery cares for the young elephants, including hand rearing them until they are old enough to be gradually introduced back to the wild in Tsavo East National Park.
Then proceed to the only sanctuary in the world within a capital city that enables you to come into very close contact with the world’s tallest yet endangered animal, the giraffe. We are situated in a quiet natural environment, whose biodiversity makes us home to a herd of Rothschild Giraffe, some Warthogs and over a hundred and fifty species of birds. We inspire children, youth and communities to interact with nature and conserve the environment for posterity.
N/B As a foster parent you can visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust at the usual public visiting hour between 11am - 12noon.
